Information for Presenters

• We have reserved a block of rooms at the Comfort Inn University Center in Fairfax City at a reduced conference rate of $89/night for 4/16 and 4/17.  To make reservations, call the hotel directly at (703) 591-5900.  The rooms are reserved under the group name “GMU Women and Gender Studies” (Susan Miller made the arrangements, if they require more information than that).  For more information, their website is http://www.comfortinn.com/ires/en-US/html/HotelInfo?hotel=VA073.
• Members of the symposium committee have volunteered to transport those staying at the Comfort Inn to and from the conference on the day of the symposium.  If you are travelling from afar, let us know your travel plans and we’ll be sure to stay in touch about arranging local transportation.
• Fairfax City is about half-way between Dulles and Reagan National Airports.  Supershuttle serves both airports ( http://www.washfly.com/super_shuttle.htm).  Cab fare from either will likely range between $25 and $35.  From Reagan National, you may also take the Metro to the Vienna stop on the orange line and then take a cab from there for approximately $12-$15.  Metro does not serve Dulles.
• If you plan to drive to campus, please let us know so we can provide more detailed parking information.  Parking spaces are limited on campus, so it’s a good idea to get here early.  (Arriving in time for the first panel should be early enough.)
• If you are travelling by Metro, take the Orange line to the Vienna stop.  There you will find both CUE buses and a Mason-to-Metro shuttle, all of which will take you to campus.
